Booklet Printing

When you use this function the printer driver prints the pages in a certain
way so that when folded, the document becomes a booklet.

To use the Booklet function, you must install the optional Duplex Unit
(DX-XXXX).
Note:
The models with built-in duplex support Booklet printing and do not require
installation of an optional Duplex Unit.
After installing the Duplex
Unit into the printer, you must
ensure that the printer driver is configured to use the Duplex Unit.
To
do this, follow the steps below:
- Click the 'Start' button, then click 'Settings', and then 'Printers'.
- Right click the 'Brother HL-7050' series icon and click 'Properties'
- Open 'Accessories' tab
- Click 'Auto Detect' button in the 'Accessories' box, or select 'DX-7000'
from the 'Available Options' box and then click 'Add' button.
- Click the 'Apply' button and then 'OK' button.
How to select the Booklet printing option
From a Windows applications such as Microsoft Word, click the "File"
menu, and then select the "Print" option. You will see a dialogue
similar to the one below:
- Click the "Properties" button to display the printer
driver settings.

- You will see the Brother dialogue screen. Select the 'Advanced'
tab and then select the 'Duplex' icon.
Check the 'Duplex' box.
Select 'Use Duplex Unit' option, and then check the 'Booklet Printing'
box.

- Select either 'Flip on Left Edge' or 'Flip on Right Edge'
from the 'Duplex Type' section. If you are not sure which type of booklet
you want to create, refer to the icon that is displayed in the preview
screen.
If you would like to specify the offset value of the binding side, check
the 'Binding Offset' box and input the value.
- When you are confident that you have specified the correct options,
click the 'Apply' button and then the 'OK' button to return back to
the original 'Print' dialogue. Now click the 'OK' button and the print
job will be sent to the printer printing in the way you specified.
To make the Booklet, fold the printed pages down the middle. When using
the booklet printing function, please note that the paper size, orientation,
source and other settings must remain unchanged for the whole document.
