Using the Watermark Feature

Introduction

Brother printer drivers are equipped with a powerful watermark feature. This feature can be used to watermark your documents with predefined text or with your own user-defined messages.

How to use the Watermark feature

From a Windows® applications such as Microsoft Word, click the "File" menu, and then select the "Print" option. You will see a dialogue similar to the one below:

Click the 'Properties' button to display the printer driver setting. Now select the Advanced tab, click the 'Watermark' tab and then click the 'Use Watermark' option as shown below:

There are three predefined watermarks:

CONFIDENTIAL (prints the work CONFIDENTIAL on the document)

COPY(prints the work COPY on the document)

DRAFT (prints the work DRAFT on the document)

If you wish to create your own watermark, click the 'New' button and the following dialogue appears:

In the above screenshot you can see that a watermark has been created called: 'Sales Department'. The following properties were changed:

There are a variety of other options that you can specify, for example, you can change the angle of the text or even choose to insert a bitmap image as the watermark instead of text.

Change the options that you wish to change and click the 'OK' button, you will return back to the main Watermark screen.

Specify the option you require and then click the 'OK' button. Now click the 'Apply' button followed by the 'OK' button until you return to the print dialogue screen. Now print the document and the watermark will be printed as you specified.
