What is Firmware
The firmware controls what functionality the printer has. It can be
thought of as being software, however, unlike software that you install
and run on a computer, firmware is designed to work only inside the
printer. Generally speaking, we recommend you try the latest version
of firmware before contacting Brother or a Brother supplier.
Firmware Details
If you have encountered any of the following problems, we recommend
you
upgrade the print server firmware.
Version 1.20:
- If the MFC/Printer is configured to use a STATIC IP address
and is not
immediately powered off and on, the MFC/printer can receive an
IP address
from a DHCP server if one is available.
- If the DHCP server IP address is changed, the MFC/Printer can
fail to
re-negotiate an IP address after to lease period has expired.
- In some very rare cases the IP address may be reset if the
MFC/Printer is
switched off when the Printer/MFC is in a certain condition.
- Fixed long name NetWare context problems.
