Brother CUPS driver and CUPS Wrapper driver download
Brother has prepared a CUPS driver (For BR-Script Models Users) and a CUPS wrapper driver (For Non-BR-Script
Models Users) package. The CUPS driver automatically copies the relevant driver files to your Linux distribution, and the CUPS wrapper
driver makes LPR drivers work with CUPS.
These drivers are designed to work using the CUPS printing systems. Select the relevant model to download the appropriate file and then follow the installation instructions.

Brother CUPS wrapper driver:
- Please be sure to install the LPR driver before installing the CUPS wrapper driver.
- Note to users of DCP-115C, DCP-117C, DCP-120C, DCP-315CN, DCP-340CW,MFC-215C, MFC-425CN, MFC-640CW, MFC-820CW:
Please use the MFC-210C driver as an alternative solution. - Note to users of MFC-8220:
Please use the MFC-8500 driver as an alternative solution. - Note to users of: HL-2140, HL-2150N, HL-2170W:
Please use the HL-2070N driver as an alternative solution. - Note for updated dpkg drivers:
Please remove the previous drivers before you install update drivers. - Note to users of product with "*" mark:
In some distributions, LPD needs to be installed before installing the CUPS wrapper driver. If you have a problem installing the driver, create a temporary symbolic link to link the file "/etc/init.d/cups" or "/etc/init.d/cupsys" to "/etc/init.d/lpd".
ln -s /etc/init.d/cups /etc/init.d/lpd
ln -s /etc/init.d/cupsys /etc/init.d/lpd
After the installation, remove the symbolic link.
