Web BRAdmin Security

The Web BRAdmin software offers three security options which can restrict the number of users who can access the Web BRAdmin server or the number of users who can manage devices.

Using Web BRAdmin it's possible to:

  1. Restrict access to the Web BRAdmin server based on IP address making it more difficult to connect to the Web BRAdmin server. Click here to learn more.
  2. Change the port number of the Web BRAdmin server making it impossible to access the Web BRAdmin server. Click here to learn more.
  3. Change Web BRAdmin server settings to prevent device configuration or other web BRAdmin configuration settings for those people who can access the Web BRAdmin server.

The most basic security configuration within in the Web BRAdmin software allows the system administrator to configure who can access specific features within the Web BRAdmin software. For example, it is possible to lock-out certain features of the software preventing unauthorized users from altering important device settings.

To learn how to configure Web BRAdmin security settings refer to the information below:

  1. From the Web BRAdmin homepage select the "Preferences" button.
  1. The "Administrator Access Setting" screen is displayed.

  2. Now specify which options you wish to enable. In this example, we have enabled security on:

    "Create Filters"
    "Configure Administrator Access"
    "Device Settings"

What do the "Access Password" settings mean?

Column Edit
If you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to create or edit new column displays.

Create Filter
If you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to create or edit new filter displays. To learn how to create a filter, click here.

Configure Agent
If you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any agent settings.

Configure Discovery
If you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any discovery settings.

Configure Logging
If you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any job logging settings.

Schedule Setting
lf you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any job schedule settings.

Configure Notification
lf you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any e-mail notification settings.

Configure Internet Access (Proxy)
lf you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any Internet Configuration settings.

Configure Administrator Access (this screen)
lf you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to access this screen. We generally recommend you enable this option.

Device Setting
lf you enable this option, only people who know the administrator password will be able to configure any device configurations settings.
