Getting the latest model support information for Web BRAdmin

Users of the BRAdmin Professional software will realize that when Brother releases a new network ready device, they must download a new version of the BRAdmin Professional software which supports this device. BRAdmin Professional users must ensure that they have the very latest version of the software at all times.

To resolve this issue, the Web BRAdmin software supports a "Modules Update" (found in the "Web BRAdmin Configuration Tool"). The "Modules Update" option retrieves the latest Brother plug in files for the Web BRAdmin server without having to download and install a new copy of the Web BRAdmin software each time Brother releases a new network-ready device. The new 'plug-in' files are automatically incorporated into the Web BRAdmin server and describe the capabilities of a Brother network-connected device.

Using the "Modules Update"

With version 1.00 of the Web BRAdmin software Web BRAdmin server must have a connection to the Internet if you wish to use the "Modules Update" option. If the server does not have an active Internet connection, the Web BRAdmin server will not be able to get the latest update files.

  1. From the PC running the Web BRAdmin software click:

"Start | Programs | Brother Administrator Utilities | Brother Web BRAdmin | Web BRAdmin Configuration Tool".

You will then see the following screen:
  1. Click the "Modules Update" button. You will then see the following screen.

  2. If necessary change the "Proxy Settings".

  3. Click "OK" to proceed.

While the Web BRAdmin software is retrieving the latest plug-in information from brother.com, the Web BRadmin server must be paused and then restarted when all updates have been retrieved.
